The City of Prescott Finalizes 80 Acres of Open Space in Granite Dells

Granite Dells is one of Prescott’s most beautiful landmarks. The massive granite boulders rise from the ground as far as the eye can see. You cannot help but be inspired when you drive through the Dells on Hwy 89. When I was a kid, my Parents would take us to the Dells for picnics. We would spend the day climbing up and down on the granite boulders and I thought it was the most amazing place. I still do.
Last week, the City of Prescott finalized a deal preserving 80 acres of open space in Granite Dells. This is a treasure for our city that will benefit generations to come. Prescott Parks and Recreation Director Debbie Horton said plans are already in place to develop new hiking trails on the parcel. Trail construction will begin in early December.
