Finally, snow in Prescott

Let it snow!
It’s snowing in Prescott, finally.
I took this picture from my back door this morning before leaving the house.
Snow storms in Prescott are fun because there’s not too much work involved with them. We don’t have to dig our cars out from a huge drift, we’re not trapped at home and things don’t stay frozen until March. It’s just enough to enjoy and take in the beauty of it all.
Don’t get me wrong, we have had a few storms where we had to break out the snow shovels, but not too many in recent years. We always hope for a white Christmas, but a white week before Christmas will do.

I agree, what a beautiful and magical time of year this is! We need every drop of moisture right now.
I noticed Willow Creek has quite a bit of water running today. How exciting!
Thank you, Fran.
Sorry for asking a stupid question, but I am not from Arizona originally and I live in Phoenix. Obviously it snows in Prescott, but does it accumulate or usually just melt away? My husband and I are thinking of making a move there but don’t want to get into much snow…..we’re originally from Canada!
Hi Kristy,
Yes, we get snow but it does not stay on the ground for long. Our snow storms are enjoyable, not too much trouble.
Thanks for reading our blog.
Sincerely,
Sue Brown
I’m from California and my husband and I are thinking of moving to Prescott within a year. I was a bit worried as to how much snow you get there but after reading this blog, it sounds like you get as much snow as we do here in Grass Valley.
Thank you!
