Yavapai Hills: rich with cowboy history
May 21st, 2010 categories: Home Buyers, Home Sellers, Prescott Neighborhoods
The Yavapai Hills subdivision is located on Hwy 69, just East of downtown Prescott. Today, there are hundreds of custom homes dotting the landscape, but in the early 1900s, Yavapai Hills was home to the King of Cowboys, Tom Mix.
In 1913, Mix signed a contract to do movies and moved his family to the Bar Circle A Ranch which is now Yavapai Hills.
Over 100 two and three reel westerns were filmed in and around Slaughter House Gulch, a dry wash that runs through Yavapai Hills. The hanging tree, a magnificent maple tree with spreading branches reserved for lynching the “bad guys” still stands in Yavapai Hills.
Many of the custom home sites are surrounded by areas of open space, quiet green belts and spectacular views. This setting allows wildlife to continue to thrive.

This beautiful building site is located on Sunrise Blvd. in Yavapai Hills. This half acre lots offers views, all city utilities and is being offered at $47,900. Build your dream home in the heart of cowboy country. MLS# 945073
